Accessibility Statement

This statement was last updated on 01/18/26

We at Footnotes, Toronto are working to make our site accessible to people with disabilities.

What web accessibility is

An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.

Accessibility Statement - Footnotes, Toronto

Commitment Footnotes, Toronto is committed to ensuring our website and services are accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We strive to provide an inclusive experience for tour guests, website visitors, and booking customers.

Standards We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility standards and follow applicable accessibility laws and best practices.

What we’ve done

  • Designed content with clear structure, readable fonts, and sufficient color contrast.

  • Ensured keyboard navigation for primary site functions, including the booking flow.

  • Added descriptive alt text for images where possible and meaningful link text.

  • Implemented accessible forms with labels and validation messages.

  • Tested the site with automated tools and manual checks; tested key pages using keyboard navigation and screen readers.

Known limitations

  • Some third-party content, widgets, or embedded maps may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA.

  • Older PDF or legacy documents may not be fully accessible.

  • Occasional updates or promotions may introduce short-term accessibility issues; we try to fix these quickly.

Ongoing work
We regularly review and update the site, conduct accessibility testing, and work with developers and third-party providers to improve accessibility. We also train staff who create content to follow accessibility best practices.
